The Office of the Assessor, County Clerk-Recorder and Chief Elections Officer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team!   

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • The assigned duties may include organizing and maintaining accurate records and files, processing incoming and outgoing mail, receiving and screening visitors and telephone calls, regular contact with governmental official, filings various statements and forms to the State to avoid late filing penalties and state reports, research and compile a variety of informational materials as directed.
  • Other tasks may include, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction and perform related duties as assigned. 
  • This is a critical position and the new hire will perform a wide variety of administrative and secretarial support tasks to an Elected Official and Assistant Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder.

Knowledge of:
  • Working knowledge of sub-professional accounting, bookkeeping and fiscal procedures.
  • Modern office methods and equipment.

Skill/Ability to:
  • Learn quickly the laws governing the operations of the department.
  • Interpret laws.
  • Good judgment.
  • Get along well with others.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the work of subordinates effectively.
  • Work well without close supervision.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Graduation from an accredited college or university, with a degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Political Science, Business Administration or related field OR four years of responsible administrative or supervisory clerical experience which has included bookkeeping or sub-professional accounting duties.
